The most compact model from Opel

New budget hatchback Opel Karl will be shown at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be held in March. In the model lineup Opel Karl is a step below than Opel Corsa and it will become the most compact and the cheapest car in the brand. The length of the car is 3.68 m and the height is 1.48 meters. The weighs of this novelty is 939 kilograms. The name Karl car received in the honor of one of the sons of Opel brand’s founder. The novelty is built on the platform of the new compact hatchback Chevrolet Spark. Opel Karl will be available in equipment of three levels: Essentia, Enjoy and Cosmo. The engine Karl will get from the model called Adam, so it will have three or four-cylinder engines. The new turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 115 horsepower and 166 lb.-ft. of torque, is likely will become the base. Motors will work with the five-speed manual transmission. Cost of this new model will be about 9.5 thousand of Euro, which would allow Opel to compete with brands such as Dacia and Datsun. In the UK the model Karl will be called Vauxhall Viva.
